Vipassana Meditation

For some 2,600 years, Vipassana (a.k.a. “mindfulness meditation”) has been practiced as a means to cultivate wisdom, compassion, and a deeper understanding of life as it is being lived. The Buddha himself taught this meditation to his followers, and the practice has been handed from teacher to student to this day. Come see why Vipassana has endured as Roger Nolan guides you to “rest in the feeling of the breath,” leading to a place of insight and wonder within you. Each class will consist of a guided sitting meditation and discussion.
Roger Nolan, M.A., has been practicing meditation, yoga, and introspection for more than 35 years, and has been teaching since 1996. Now a psychotherapist practicing in South Pasadena, he specializes in adapting mindfulness meditation for the treatment of addictions, depression, and stress. He will be a contributing author of the forthcoming Minfulness-Based Relapse Prevention (Guilford Press, 2009), and is currently writing The Nirvana Prescription: A Radical Way to Transcend Suffering.
