Unlike many yoga instructors I know, I grew up avoiding anything athletic and was completely out of touch with my body.  In college, I was required to take a physical education course. Canoeing, soccer, and "adventure games" sounded a little too sweaty to me, but yoga seemed accessible.  During my first Iyengar class, I was shocked to find that breathing deeply and moving my body actually felt good!  As the course continued, I marveled at my newfound energy (and biceps) and eventually developed a home practice to subsist me after graduation.

My introduction to Forrest Yoga and Vinyasa Flow six years later deepened my practice and initiated an exciting journey of self-discovery.  The intensity and spirit-awakening depth of Forrest Yoga refined my awareness of mind-body-spirit union - I began to actively take part in my own healing process and learned how to approach yoga with a sense of exploration instead of perfectionism.  With a desire for an even deeper understanding of the journey I'd begun, I completed Ana Forrest's month-long immersion course in Teacher Training, and soon began teaching.

I teach what feels authentic, interesting, and enjoyable to me.  Grounded in Forrest Yoga principles, my classes are a challenging blend of Vinyasa Flow and Forrest Yoga, sprinkled with Iyengar-style adjustments and attention to detail.  My mission is to guide students through their own exploration of yoga with compassion and integrity; to awaken their connection to core and breath; and to use intelligent alignment and sequencing to prevent and heal injury, be it physical or emotional.  I love teaching with the accompaniment of contemporary, fun music, and try to inspire a sense of playfulness and adventure in students.
