Matt Moyer

Matt has been a student of yoga since 1995 studying hatha traditions including Sivananda, Ashtanga, Viniyoga and Anusara, and he is indebted to his teacher, Angelique Sneeden, for introducing him to yoga. Matt has been teaching yoga since 1999, and his classes are mixed levels, moderately paced flow classes focusing on the alignment of postures and breath, together with some chanting and meditation. His practice has taken him around the country learning from various teachers and traditions including Mysore India, where he studied with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.
Matt’s classes teaches traditional sun salutations, standing postures, beginning backbends, seated twists and inversions, all together which harmonize the body and mind. Structural alignment involves hands-on adjustments to help students attain deeper balance in poses while moving in and out of asanas safely. Past students have mentioned that after working with Matt, they have been able to move deeper into their practice with each session. Matt’s personal experience with yoga has been a strong spiritual one, and he brings forth his knowledge in class offering the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of yoga.
